Heavenly Father, watching nations rally for and against Israel is heartbreaking and fear-
fueling. But it’s no shock or even a surprise. The history of redemption is playing out
right before our eyes (Psalm 2:1-2). The hatred we’re witnessing is really directed
towards you and Jesus, not towards one nation in the Middle East. War is a repudiation
and reviling of you and what you have promised to do through Jesus—through the
Gospel…. But, because of Jesus’ finished work, “a vast crowd, too great to count,
from every nation and tribe and people and language” will stand in front of the throne
and before Jesus (Rev. 7; 21:1-5). We so long for that day. Father, we pray for a quick
end to the war in and against Israel. It’s exactly the same prayer we pray for Ukraine. In
the middle of all the evil and terrorism, bring many Jews, Russians, Iranians,
Ukrainians, Turks, Americans, etc. to a sure and saving knowledge of Jesus.
So Very Amen.

Father, Genesis 50:20 teaches us that what is humanly meant as evil You use for Your
eternal purposes. The story of Job, Romans 8:28 and the Gospel itself show us the
same is true, that “for those who love God all things work together for good.” We
confess we do not always understand what You are doing all the time, however, we
thank You that You have promised to work even amid evil circumstances, so that
ultimately Your perfect will would be worked out for our good and for Your glory. We ask
you to once again work for good amid evil, pain, suffering, and loss amid the war in
Israel, so that Christians would be built up and equipped, and non-Christians would
come to trust in Jesus. Amen.

Prayer 3- Pray for justice and peace in the middle East.
Lord God, we appeal to your sovereignty as we entrust justice and peace to You. We
pray for order in Israel and Gaza. We urgently ask for a relenting of violence, and for an
emphasis on justice rather than vengeance. We ask for the rejoining of families which
have been torn apart. We look to You knowing You are the One who can provide the
healing needed in Israel and Gaza at this very moment! Please protect the vulnerable,
the oppressed and the sufferers. We appeal to You on behalf of those providing aid and
comfort asking that You would work in and through them. We ask You to please end the
war. In the meantime, please strengthen the churches in that region of the world by Your
grace and mercy. We trust You and Your will so we ask “Your Kingdom come and
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Amen.
